Hi, I’m Jason Kerr – a passionate storyteller, award-winning Video Editor, and Post-Production Specialist originally from a small town in Ontario, Canada — but my vision has always been anything but small.

Growing up at the intersection of sport and art, my creative journey began with pencils and paintbrushes. Over time, that passion evolved from canvas to cutting room floor — where I discovered the power of editing to shape stories that pounce on the heart and leave a lasting print. I became fascinated by how editing could shape a story—how the rhythm of a cut, the swell of a soundtrack, or the timing of a moment could move people in powerful ways. That’s when I found my purpose: blending imagery and audio to craft compelling narratives that resonate.

After sharpening my craft at Sheridan College and the College of Sports Media, I stepped into the professional world with a strong foundation in both the technical and emotional aspects of storytelling. My background in athletics gave me a unique lens into sports media, where I’ve been able to merge two lifelong passions: capturing the intensity of competition and elevating it with purposeful storytelling.

From my roles at theScore Television Network to Rogers Sports & Media, I learned to thrive under pressure, hunt down the right moments, and deliver content that commands attention. Whether it’s a dramatic sports package, a brand anthem, or a fast-paced highlight reel, I approach every frame with intention.

For me, editing is a form of choreography. Music isn’t just a soundtrack—it’s the pulse of the story. I cut to the rhythm of the track, letting sound guide emotion, pace, and flow. It’s this musicality, paired with a deep sense of visual design and narrative pacing, that gives my work its signature impact.

As the Founder of BigKat Media, I bring over a decade of experience, a collaborative spirit, and a deep passion for storytelling. Whether I’m working with major networks, ambitious startups, or creative agencies, I approach every project with a commitment to quality and a focus on bringing ideas to life.
